The moment you question or criticize John Green, people who claim to have been feminist or care about social justice issues throw up their hackles, because they don’t want to be forced to confront that things they like might actually be problematic.
I wish his wife had had an abortion, because people like him shouldn’t be able to reproduce and continue allowing their sexism onto other generations.
You are allowed to not like John Green.
But because of that last sentence, you’ve turned from a person with an opinion to a fucking asshole.
I don’t know what’s more pathetic, people who idolize that misogynist piece of classist work known as young adult author John Green, or people who actually think he’s a good person :/
He’s really dismissive of people of lower intelligence and thinks that he’s better than everyone because he can write pseudo-philosophical crap and treat women like shit in all of his books (they’re all either fake characters, characterized like shit, or killed off). And his fans just suck his metaphorical cock because they’re blind enough to think he’s a good person. He’s such an ableist it makes me mad. Being smart doesn’t make you any better than anyone else, and neither does have a big vocabulary.
I wish I could talk more about how racist and classist he is too but the last time i read one of his books I got really upset because this is stuff that people just think is totally fine to perpetuate and put on young kids.
At my feminist book club one of the women suggested we read his one book Paper Towns and thank god all of the other women shot it down otherwise I probably would have quit.
It genuinely upsets me that this Tumblr even exists and holds such animosity towards John.
I’m interested in hearing why exactly you feel this way about John/his books, because this is certainly not at all the impression that I have gotten from him.

I was at a youth convention this weekend, and at a seminar called “College Uncensored” the speaker played John’s video about college!! However, not a single other person in the room knew who he was, including the speaker, who thought his name was Hank! Oh the desperate plight of the lonesome nerdfighter.
